Beverly Jeanne Wilkerson, 65, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with her sons at her side.

Beverly was born on June 20, 1961, in Muncie to Robert and Betty (Myers) Carney. She graduated from Blackford High School in 1980 and attended beauty school.

Over the years, Beverly worked as a waitress at Sunshine Café as well as in the Blackford High School cafeteria.

Beverly was a fun, loving and selfless, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and loved animals.

Survivors include two sons: John Wilkerson (Cortney) and Daniel Wilkerson (Allison); grandchildren: Alivia, Reagan, and Josie Wilkerson; her mother, Betty Shannon (Tom); stepfather, Steve Willman (Viola); sister, Barbara Gilland (Rod); two brothers, Robert Carney Jr. (Mary) and Jimmy Carney; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Wilkerson and her father, Robert Carney, and her dog, Rocco.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Rodney Eiler officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery, next to her son, Joey.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 and after 10:00 am Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to a local animal shelter.
