Earl Everett Smith, 79, long time Eaton resident, died on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Signature Health Care in Muncie.

Earl was born in 1938 in Eaton, Indiana to Earl S. and Dortha (Jarnagin) Smith. He graduated from Eaton High School and would go on to work for Eaton Canning for several years.

On August 16, 1969, he married Shirley Davis in Muncie. Earl enjoyed racing but most of all he enjoyed collecting seashells, baseball cards and Native American collectables.

Earl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Smith, his aunt, Margaret Prew, sister-in-laws Nancy Conn, husband Charles, and Connie Hobbs, husband Don, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother Larry Smith and his uncles, Harold Smith and Fred Prew.

Services will be private for the family. Following cremation, Earl will be buried at Black Cemetery, Albany.
