Gloria Jean Johnson Kirby Wells, 71, loving mother, nana, sister and aunt, died on Friday, October 22, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Gloria was born on December 24, 1949 in Redkey, Indiana to Ralph and Dorothy (Miller) Johnson. One of twelve children, Gloria's father died while she was a young child. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Lloyd Mac McDonnell. She graduated from the first graduating class of Delta High School in 1968 and lived in Eaton for many years.

Gloria worked for a time at the Mississinewa Tavern, the Eaton Pantry and Life Stream. She was very active in her community. Gloria served on the Eaton Town Board, was a member of the American Legion and Women's Auxiliary, PTO and could always be found either coaching softball or attending softball games.

She is survived by her children: Pat Kirby II (Tonya), Raquel Wells, Roger Wells (Janie) and Robin Douthitt (Steve); two brothers, Hugh Johnson and Jack Johnson; twelve grandchildren: Don Kirby III, Tim Kirby, Paul Kirby, Chase Wells, Lance Wells, Victoria Wells, Morgan Wells, Dakota Jones, Genna Jones, Derek Douthitt and Devon Douthitt; a step-brother Dewayne McDonnell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Ralph Johnson, Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Dorothy and Mac McDonnell; siblings, Bernard, Cassius, Lowell, Larry and Robert Johnson and Rosemary Fleagle, Mary Johnson and Linda Boyer and a step-sister, Linda McDonnell.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29th and from 11:00 until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
