James R. Woolum, 83, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home in Eaton.

James was born on April 11, 1938 in Muncie, Indiana to John and Garnett (Barton) Woolum. He graduated from Muncie Central High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy.

On June 26, 1960, he married Wave Taulbee and together they raised their three children in Eaton.

Jim worked for Warner Gear, Delco Battery and finally Westinghouse for 32 years. He was a long-time member of Eaton First Baptist Church where he volunteered in many ways.

Jim is survived by his children, Coetta Woolum-Bell (Larry) and John Woolum; four grandchildren: Dominique Geers (Luke), James Roscoe "Ross" Scofield, Alysha-David Rhodes and Trenton Woolum and his mother Kim Woolum; three great-grandchildren: Harper Geers, Roman Geers and Royce Geers; four brothers, John Woolum, Jerry Woolum (Patricia), Jack Woolum (Terri) and Pete Woolum (Janice), as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Wave; a daughter, Belinda Woolum-Abshire, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Brian Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be prior to the funeral on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
