Jean Loffer, 88, of Westfield and former Angola, IN resident, was lifted up by the angels to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Jean was born on April 19, 1929, in New Bremen, Ohio, to Walter and Frances Nieter. She was a 1946 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, Ohio. On October 4, 1947, Jean married her high school sweetheart, Robert Loffer. The spreading of God's message became their life's work. Jean was a partner in this ministry as her husband Robert (Bob), pastored Eaton Baptist Church, North Delaware Baptist Church in Muncie, and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Angola, IN. Jean also played the piano and organ at all of these churches, along with Pleasant Lake Baptist Church where she was a long time member.

Jean was a homemaker and did secretarial work at Ball State University, Colony Printing in Eaton, and Lakeland Apartments in Angola. She also sold Avon for over twenty years. The Chicago Cubs were dear to her heart and she was an avid fan. Watching Big Ten basketball was another interest of hers. She also gave piano lessons for over thirty years. The love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guided her life and she exemplified this by providing everyone who knew her with an example of how to live and serve him. Her love, kindness, caring, and compassion to others was a living example of her faith. Jean was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean loved being around her family, playing board games and cards with them, living at her lake cottage, and reading. Jean attended the Eaton Church of God, while living with her daughter in Eaton.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Chris (Glen) Schwer of Eaton, Cathy (Jim) Smith of Carmel, and Linda Loffer of Venice, FL: two sons, Mike (Suzanne) Loffer of Muncie and John (Rene) Loffer of Angola, IN; eighteen grandchildren, Jeff (Teresa) Schwer of Eaton, Suzy (Trent) Fox of Eaton, Terry (Jera) Schwer of Richmond, Jeremy (Angie) Smith of Carmel, Laura (Andy) Schmaltz of Westfield, Phillip Smith of Carmel, Lindsey (Scott) Knust of Indianapolis, Katie (Shawn) Flowers of Muncie, Ashley Loffer of Muncie, Aaron Loffer of Angola, Adam Loffer of Angola, Andrew (Laura) Loffer of Bloomington, Tim Loffer of Angola, Lauren Loffer of Utah, Caitlyn Loffer of Boston, MA, Rachel (Andrew) Musick of Nashville, TN, and Jordan Van of Angola; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Loffer; two sons, Terry and Mark Loffer; two grandsons, Beau and Luke Van; a sister, Margaret Brodbeck; and a nephew, Don Belton.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 16, 2017,at Eaton Church of God, 700 E. Harris St., Eaton with Pastor George Foulk and Pastor Roger Spitler officiating. Private burial will be made in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the funeral at the church.
