Rebecca Jeanne McKinley, 94, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026.
She was born on June 15, 1931, to Fred and Mildred (Weems) McClellan. Jeanne graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1949 and married Eugene McKinley on April 9, 1950. Together they made their home in Muncie and their family expanded to include two sons: Greg and Joe McKinley.
Jeanne worked for Associates Financial Services as a branch manager, retiring in 1996 after 42 years of employment.
Jeanne was very active in her community and gave her time freely. She was a member of Moose Auxiliary #712, associate member of Sigma Phi Gamma, the Fez Mates Club and she volunteered countless hours to Minnetrista in Muncie (14 years), Carnage Library in Muncie (10 years), Eaton Public Library (16 years), as well as the Second Harvest Food Bank.
She is survived by her son, Greg McKinley (Gloria); granddaughter, Jodi Cook (Jon); grandsons, Chris McKinley (Amber Gordon) and Andy McKinley (Dawn Dalton); great-granddaughter, Abigail Cook (Hayden Licht); great-grandson, Devin McKinley; her brother, Brooks Grooms, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene McKinley, son, Joe McKinley; sisters, Suellen Burton and Jane Anne Burton; her mother, Mildred Jester; grandparents, James and Essie Weems and her father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Beulah McKinley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2026, at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.
A special thanks to Bethel Pointe and Heart to Heart Hospice for all the care and love given to mom.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Eaton Public Library.
