Obituary

Eaton, IN

Jimmie Edward Crockett, 71, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Jimmie was born on February 6, 1950 in Jamestown, Tennessee to James and Pearlie (Tipton) Crockett. He graduated from Muncie Central High School and later earned his associates degree in accounting.

On March 24, 1984 he married Kay Morgan and together they would raise their three children. Jimmie worked for many years as a recruiter and really enjoyed helping mentor and guide others to find fitting careers. He was a member of Muncie Alliance Church, where he served as treasurer, and taught Sunday School. He had a loving heart for other people, he used his skillful hands to help the community on many projects such as Habitat for Humanity, he regularly helped serve the homeless at Morning Star Church, and went on missions trips overseas and stateside.

Jim was the rock of his family, providing spiritual guidance, a listening ear, or simply a helping hand when it was time to put away tables and chairs. Some of his favorite things to do were playing his guitar, reading his Bible, working on the property, and taking his grandkids to Dollar General.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Kay Crockett; his children: Caleb Crockett (Susan), Hayley Anderson (Jesse) and Miracle Crockett; four grandchildren: Keeley, Tenley, Daisy and Remy Anderson; his brothers and sisters: Peggy Crockett, David Crockett {deceased} (wife Marilyn), Betty Carter (Larry), Mary Sleezer (husband Gary deceased), Pam French (Bruce), Victor Crockett (Joy), Don Crockett (Dayna), Tim Crockett and Leslie Smith (Jeff); as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his brother, David.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Muncie Alliance Church 5601 W Jackson St., Muncie with Pastor Leon Pomeroy officiating.
