Karla B. Greer, 67, passed away from heart failure, on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at her home.


Karla was born in Eaton, Indiana to Walker and Sarah Blair on October 2, 1956. She graduated from Delta High School in 1975 and worked several jobs over the years to include: RockTenn, Colony Printing, M&M Bus Company in Muncie, Americare, and Sunoco. For many years, Karla worked as an EMT for Gaston EMS as well as Eaton EMTs.


She enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. Later she spent her time gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles and traveling to Powwows to celebrate her Native American heritage.


On December 29, 2006, she married James Greer. Karla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a life-long love of animals, especially dogs and cats.


Karla is survived by her loving husband, James Greer; her son, Curtis Atkinson; step-children: Perry Atkinson (Debbie), Darel Atkinson (Debbie), Brian Atkinson (Deanne), Neva Bowman (Jim), Angela Barnes (John), Robin Belt (Rob) and Steve Hines (Susan); grandchildren: Kyler Atkinson, Syrus Atkinson, Xavier Atkinson, Alissa Atkinson; 26 step-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren as well as her cousin Jan Simms, whom she held a special bond with.


In addition to her parents, Karla was preceded in death by her first husband, Carol "Carl" Atkinson; son, Carl Atkinson; her daughter Elizabeth Atkinson and stepdaughter, Teressa Arnette.


In accordance with Karla's wishes, no public funeral services will be held.


Pitman-Richman Funeral Home of Eaton is entrusted with cremation arrangements.
