Larry W. Stotler, 83, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at IUMethodist Hospital, Indianapolis after an extended illness.


Born in Delaware County on August 15, 1934, he was the only son of eight children born to William and Lottie (Smith) Stotler and was a 1953 graduate of Eaton High School, where he also was the Valedictorian of his graduating class, and excelled in basketball, being inducted into Delaware County's Basketball Hall of Fame.
On February 13, 1954 he married Marilyn Feltt and served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.


Larry was employed by Delco Remy for 32 years as a tool & die maker, then for 19 years he worked for Johnny Morris Chevrolet, retiring in 1986.


Surviving family include four children: Bruce Stotler of Muncie, Laura Richardson (Les) of Eaton, Larry Stotler (Julie Christine) of Royerton and Doug Stotler of Muncie. Sixteen grandchildren: Carrie Ann Young, Angie Lynn Yost, William Chad Stotler, Kandice Suzanne Caroline Richardson, Kimberly Ruth Elnora Riddle, Katelyn Annette Marie Hall, Ryan Joseph Gassman, Christa Ruth Gassman, Kristopher Allan Selvey, Tyler Christian Stotler, Marissa Alynn Stotler, Miranda Suzanne Stotler, Tiffany Renee Parsons, Nathan Craig Stotler, Tanner Douglas Stotler and Yekarah Jadlynn Stotler; 38 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn; a daughter, Susan Bailey, two grandsons: Lester A. "Bear" Richardson and Kyle Douglas Stotler. Seven sisters also precede him, Lucille Burton, Frances Ashcraft, Rosemary Bird, LaVonne Duke, Anna Laura Stotler, Billie Lee and Maxine Townsend.


Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Spitler presiding. Burial will follow the service at Gardens of Memory, with military rites by the Delaware County Veterans Organization.


Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and an hour prior to services on Thursday.
