Larry R. Upchurch, 69, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home.

Larry was born on January 27, 1948 to Arthur and Glenna (Pyles) Upchurch. He graduated from New Castle High School and married Cassandra Stephen on December 21, 1968 in Rushville. Together they would raise their two children. Cassandra passed away in 2005.

Larry worked for Dana Corp retiring in 1992. He was a member of the UAW Local 1501, Muncie Bass Busters, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, playing cards and loved spending time on his 50 acres and with his family.

Surviving family members include his loving wife of 9 years, Marilyn Upchurch, two daughters, Stacie Dumas (Tony), and Mary Anne Short (Michael), step-daughter, Nicole Prose (Chris), step-son, Chad Clevenger, a sister, Flonnie McDonald, five grandchildren: Alizabeth Madison (Josh), Hannah Blumer, William Blumer III, Zachary Belt, and Amanda Short, three great-grandchildren: Aiden Madison, Cassandra Madison, and Riley Madison, sister-in-law, Heather Upchurch, as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Cassandra, and a brother, Carl Upchurch.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery, Albany.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 and after 1:00 pm Friday, at the funeral home.
