Lebert "Roy" Bland, 94, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Lebert was born on April 9, 1923 in Linton, Indiana to Harvey and Eva (Cox) Bland. He attended Solsberry High School and served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1947. He married Flora Mae Reed on February 2, 1943 in Bloomfield. Together they would raise their thirteen children.
A carpenter by trade, he owned and operated Bland Drywall. He was formerly a pastor at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Muncie and was a member of the carpenter union. Lebert loved sports of all kinds, especially playing them with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Delta and Wes-Del High School sports.
The great loves of his life were: God, his wife, kids and his garden.
Lebert is survived by his children: Jerry Bland, David Bland (Kelly), Mona Bell (Larry), Margaret Isenberg, Donald Bland (Cita), Joe Bland, Mary Thomas (Joe), Dorri Paskiewicz, John Bland, Terry Bland (Denise) and Tim Bland; twenty-two grandchildren; more great-grandchildren than can be counted; several great-great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Flora Mae Bland in 1975; two daughters, Carol Yingst and Phyllis Bland, and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Matt Miller officiating. Burial with Military Funeral Honors by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
