Melinda Ann Grove, 79, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 4, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Melinda was born on June 2, 1947, to Robert and Helen (Clay) Stephenson. She grew up in Hamlet, Indiana where she graduated from Oregon-Davis High School. Melinda went on to study elementary education at Ball State University, earning her bachelor’s in education.

Melinda worked for many years as an elementary school teacher in Batesville and Anderson, Indiana. Her life was her twin boys, Mark and Matt Grove. She was dedicated to their success and encouraged them in everything they did.

Melinda enjoyed the company of her friends and family, often going out for dinner and a trip to the casino.

She is survived by her siblings, John Stephenson (Sharon), Kathy Robinette (Ron); nieces and nephews April Clark-Ranceful, Nathan Stephenson, Brad Robinette (Mary), and Kristen Robinette (Jeremy) and many friends and neighbors in the Eaton community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin-sons, Mark and Matthew Grove and a brother, Bobby Rayburn.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton.

Graveside services will follow visitation at 3:00 pm at Eaton-Union Cemetery 16301 N State Road 3, Eaton with Brian Waters officiating.
