Obituary

Eaton, IN

On August 14, 2023, Peggy Arlene (Hardesty) Davis passed away unexpectedly at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Peggy was born on June 21, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana to Merrit and Helen (Thomas) Hardesty. She was the middle of three children raised in Eaton, Indiana. Peggy went on to graduate from Eaton High School in 1967, then later married the love of her life, Larry Gene Davis, in 1969. Peggy was a natural caregiver and later pursued a career in nursing, earning her LPN in 1986, and her RN in 1994.

Peggy was very passionate about nursing and spent most of her career perfecting her patient care skills, to then go on and teach countless students the true responsibility of nursing. Nursing was more than a profession to Peggy; it was her calling. After being a nurse and teacher for 30 plus years, Peggy then spent her days supporting her grandchildren through their sports and academic achievements. Family was very important to Peggy, she loved taking photos and cherished filling her house with memories of her family.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Larry Davis. Her two daughters, Michelle (Frank) Bohman, and Laura (Jared) Niccum. Her brother, George (Cindy) Hardesty. Her five grandchildren, Michael, Meredith, and Matthew Bohman, and Brinley and Davis Niccum and several nieces and nephews. Finally, her two pets Tootsie and MeShe. She was preceded in death by her parents Merrit and Helen Hardesty, and her sister Barb Cavanaugh.
