Robert "Bob" Leonard Hankins, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
He was born on July 9, 1933 in Reynolds, Indiana to Kenneth and Ruth Ann (McCollum) Hankins. Bob graduated from Eaton High School, class of 1951 and later married Patricia Tomlinson in 1956.
He proudly served in the US Army as well as the United States Air Force where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He retired from ABB in 1993 after 20 years of employment.
Bob was an active member of Center Chapel Church in Muncie, where he taught Sunday school. He also volunteered at the detention center in Muncie.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia Hankins; his daughters, Kathy Fisk of Springport, and Linda Snider (Scott) of Selma; three sisters: Pat McAfee, Barbara Collins, and Linda Smith; grandchildren: Jeremy Hankins, Matthew Fisk, Emily Fisk, Chad Fisher (Sara), Andy Fisher, Cory Fisher (Ashley), Nate Snider (Heather) and Kelsey Snider; as well as several precious great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hankins and a sister, Mary Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Center Chapel United Methodist Church, 900 W. Royerton Rd. Muncie, IN 47303 with Pastor Bill Dunfee and Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial with Military Funeral Honors by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow the services at Eaton Union Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the church from 12:00 Noon until services at 2:00 p.m.
