Roger Dale Chism, 67, died at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 7, 2025, after a brief illness.
Roger was born on May 7, 1957, in Muncie Indiana to Dale and Penelope Kay (Wright) Chism. He was raised in Eaton along with his siblings Marsha, Sandy, and Carl. Roger graduated from Delta High School in 1975 and went on to serve his country in the US Marine Corps until 1979.
On December 13, 1980, Roger married the love of his life, Vicky Cole. Their family expanded to include their children: Jackie, Bonnie, and Michelle.
Roger worked for Chrysler for many years, retiring in 2019. He enjoyed motorcycles and rode coast-to-coast several times, visiting 42 states and never had to put his Harley on a trailer.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vicky Chism; their daughters: Jackie Campbell, Bonnie Frye (Chris) and Michelle McHatton (Keith); sister, Sandy Johnson (Jake); grandchildren: Nic and Austin Frye, Breana(Rene)Martinez, Victoria(Gene)Foster and Jacob Campbell,
great-grandchildren Brendan and Shyla Foster, Cami, Landon, and Brynnly Campbell, and William and Wednesday Martinez; sister-in-Law, Lechelle Chism; and brother-in-law Ed Dragoo; and his closest friends Dwayne Craig, Jim Rimbarger, and Rick Wright.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother and Harley riding partner Carl Chism; sister, Marsha Dragoo and son-in-law Billy Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Bill Bruneau officiating. Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Black Cemetery, Albany.
Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
