The angels came and took our sweet mother home. Rosie Mazine Slaven Terry of Eaton, Indiana, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2021.
Born September 29th, 1935 to the late Applelona Slaven in Jamestown, Tennessee, she was raised on Station Camp Creek on the Jamestown side of the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River.
She married her lifelong companion, Larry Clayton Terry on May 31st, 1954 in Oneida, Tennessee.
She was a member of the Westside United Baptist Church in Muncie and loved her family, her doll collection, humming birds and her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. No one ever left her kitchen hungry and many will remember her dried apple pies and her ginger bread.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Applelona Slaven, five brothers: Steven, Levi, Lonnie, James Vestal and Earl W. Slaven and one sister, Ann Blevins.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Larry Clayton Terry; three sons: Lloyd Kenneth and wife Etta (Garrett) of Alexandria, Rev. Floyd Ronnie and wife Jenita (Beasley) of Alexandria and Tony Christopher of Alexandria who has been her rock and caregiver for 8 ½ years; two sisters, Mary and husband Shelly H. Watson of Muncie and Sue Campbell of Jamestown, Tennessee; her brother, Arnold Slaven of Jamestown, Tennessee; granddaughter, Charity Dawn Terry Rushing of Alexandria; three grandsons: Remington Colt Terry, Ramsey Allen Rushing, Richard Ezekiel Rushing of Alexandria and many special nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton. Private burial will take place at Eaton Union Cemetery.
