Samuel L. Gillum

December 21st, 1987 – July 30th, 2022

On Sunday, July 30th 2022 our beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend was suddenly and senselessly taken from us in a tragic act of violence. He was a wonderful, adoring, devoted father who is survived by two precious baby girls, Hazel (2 years) and Elaina (4 months), and wife Amanda (Wright). Sam also leaves behind, and will be sorely missed by, an extended family that includes his mother Julie Hatfield (husband Tim), father Chris (wife Rae Jean), brother Ben (wife Pamela) and step-siblings: Madelyn Hatfield (fiancé Jacob), Tara Covey (husband Chris), Katie Clouse (husband Nick), Lance Norton (wife Bri), Kris Norton (wife Trisha), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sam was adored by everyone lucky enough to have met him, his smile and laugh were infectious. He was a gentle, kind, and loving soul who loved his family above all. He loved spending his free time with family and friends, either relaxing on the water or going to the shooting range.

There will be a celebration of life on Friday, August 5th. It will be held at the home of Ben and Pamela: 17500 N County Road 200W Muncie, IN 47303. It is on the corner of Eaton-Wheeling Pike and 200W, north of Muncie.
