Stefanie L. (Smoot) Pitman, loving wife, daughter and sister, finished her fight with ovarian cancer at her home on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Stefanie was born on December 21, 1970 in Muncie, Indiana to Steven and Sharen (Kershner) Smoot. She was a 1989 graduate of Delta High School. On October 1, 1994 she married David Pitman in Eaton.

Stefanie worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Daniel Reno DDS.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, David Pitman; her parents, Steve and Sharen Smoot; sister, Shelbie Cross (Ronnie); mother-in-law, Nancy Pitman; sister-in-law, Cheryl Taflinger (Brad); nieces and nephews: Kilee Fletcher (Adam), Cullen Taflinger, Hayden Licht and Peyton Licht; great-nieces and nephews: Avington Taflinger, Blakely Taflinger and Maddie Fletcher; as well as some very special friends.

Stefanie was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gale Pitman.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton and from 10:00 until 11:00 Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home with Brian Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Stefanie's family wish to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Reddy and all the staff at Community Health Care in Anderson for their exceptional care of Stefanie and her family.
