Barry K. Ward passed away on December 9, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness and surgery.
He was born on June 29, 1962 in Martin, Kentucky to Arthur and Aileen (Little) Ward. He graduated in 1980 from Delta High School. He served in the US Army, specializing in tanks and served overseas in Germany.
Barry was a cement finisher by trade out of the Local #692, where he was also an apprentice instructor. Barry loved to hunt, fish, and work on cars and trucks. He also coached little league baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of 27 years, his parents, Arthur and Aileen Ward, a sister Anita Cooper (Ed), a brother Tom Ward, sons: Kevin Ward, Christopher Ward (Misty), Joshua Ratliff, and Jason Ratliff (Nancy), daughter, Shelly Haler (Anthony), grandchildren: Peyton, Jason Jr., and Avery Ratliff of Fort Wayne, IN, and Kimberly, Nichole, and Christopher Ward II. a niece , Michelle Schuhmacher (William) and great-niece and nephew, Jacob and Mia, and three aunts: Dorothy Mann (Steve), Annette Farmer (Hubert), and Lillie Mae Ward.
Barry was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Dewayne Loveless officiating. Burial with Military Funeral Honors by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until services Wednesday, at the funeral home.
