Billy B. Ray, 85, died on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Bill was born in Redkey, Indiana on July 5, 1935 to Oliver and Myrtle (Sodders) Ray. He attended school in Dunkirk and later earned his GED from Jay County High School. Bill served his country in the US Army and later married Nadine Gilly on February 27, 1960 in Dunkirk.

Billy worked as a carpet layer for many years, operating his own business, Ray’s Floor Covering. Later, he worked for Indiana Glass, retiring in 1997. He was an avid fisherman who loved his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Del Ray (Janet) of Eaton, Gary Ray (Kelly) of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren: Lindsey Littlecharlie (Keith), Brittany McCord (Cody), Alex Ray (fiancé, Raeann) and Maria Ray; seven great-grandchildren: April, Maximus, Urijah, Brooke, Briggs, Adelyne, and Colton; his sister, Bonnie Kaiser and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Katie; three brothers: Max, Jimmy and Kenny and his sister, Beverly.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton and from 9:00 to 10:00, Tuesday, prior to services.

Funeral services with Military Funeral Honors by the Delaware Veterans Honor Guard will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with Pastor Mark Wilkerson officiating.

Burial will be at Strong Cemetery, Albany.

Memorials may be name in his name to the Eaton First Baptist Church 510 E Columbia Ave, Eaton, IN 47338.
