CLAUDE PRYOR Obituary

Hartford City, IN Claude Gordon Pryor, 78, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. He was born on April 4, 1932 in Scott County, Tennessee, to Jesse J. and Julia (Clark) Pryor. He married Doris Jean Allen on April 4, 1953 in Hartford City. An Eaton resident for over 45 years, Gordon, resided in Hartford City for the past 13 years. Gordon retired from RockTenn of Eaton in 1985. He was a former Board Member of Union Cemetery, where he was a major contributor of his time and efforts towards the upkeep of the cemetery as well as assisting in burials. He was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club. Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years, Doris Pryor, are his children: Claude Gene Pryor of Muncie, Sharon Glaser (husband, Bill), of Muncie, Virginia Rouse (husband, Randy), of Muncie, and Jackson Eric Pryor (wife, Lisa), of Eaton, eight grandchildren: Michael Pryor, Jesse Pryor, Matthew Pryor, Shane Slaven, Jenny Conner, Jacob Glaser, Kenneth Pryor and Kathleen Pryor and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Elbert and Paul Pryor, four sisters: Margaret Bowling, Evelyn Goad, Aleas Jones, and Jewel Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with Rev. Harrison Williams presiding. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Eaton. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
