Evelyn V. Clements, 80, went to be with her husband, Norman, on their 61st wedding anniversary, Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Willowbend Living Center, Muncie.
She was born December 15, 1931, in Smyrna, Tennessee, the daughter of Vester and Essie (Williams) Simmons. Evelyn married Norman Keith Clements on October 9, 1951, in Eaton, Indiana. His death occurred October 17, 2000. She was a 1949 graduate of Eaton High School.
A homemaker, Mrs. Clements had been a beautician and had worked in the cafeteria at Royerton Elementary School for several years.
Mrs. Clements was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 3 sons, Bruce (Emily) Clements, and Neil Clements, Muncie, and Kent (Debra) Clements, Selma; 3 brothers, William (Peggy) Simmons and Vester (Janney) Simmons, Jr., Eaton, Robert (Sharon) Simmons, Alabama; 2 sisters, Flora Mae Morris, Muncie, and Mary Etta Hubbard, Farmland; 5 grandchildren, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Majorie and Gene Holstein, Muncie, and a brother-in-law, James Knox, Hartford City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Jesse Simmons.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 A.M. October 13, 2012 in the Center Chapel United Methodist Church, 900 W. Royerton Road, Muncie, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
