Florence Leona Scisco Reagan Simmons
September 11, 1942 - February 25, 2021
Leona was born to Leon Dow and Ethel Francis (Bell) Scisco in Youngstown, Ohio. They moved to Eaton, IN in 1960 and she graduated from Eaton High School in 1961.
Leona worked at Kerr glass for a short time. She worked at Cleve-Pak from the time the doors opened until closing as Rock-Tenn 32 years later, and served as Union Recording Secretary for 30 years.
She spent her time after retiring doing all the things she loved: fishing, camping, travelling, boating, visiting with family and friends, playing card and dice games, and one of her biggest passions going to bingo. She liked to go shopping as long as she didn't have to try anything on and loved going out to eat, and pushing all the "try me" buttons on the toys in the store.
Leona was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Daughter, Aunt, and Friend. Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren.
She is survived by one brother, Reggie Scisco, Iowa.
Children: Keith (Barbara), Rocky (Lenton), Kathleen, Kent, Kim.
Grandchildren: Natalie, Brianna, Kimberly, Brian II, John, Tory, Lauren, Amber, Heather, Lacy, Kelcy, Kayla, Dakota, Shelby, Conner.
Great grandchildren: Kiernan, Logyn, Adallyn, Adalae, Bruce, Cambri, Kane, Kash, Brently, Layla, Nolan, Brian III, Brett, Skylar, Gavin, Ava, Brooks, Moxxi, Theo.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Bill Simmons, a “son” Brian Hunt, special friend Barb Cavanaugh, and many members of the Reagan family that she considered her own. Leona is also survived by her beau of 18 years, David Salter.”
Leona was loved and adored by all those who shared her life. She will be remembered for her kindness and unconditional love.
Funeral arrangements are at Pitman-Richman on Saturday, 6 March and viewing hours are from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM; service at 12:00 PM followed by burial at Union Cemetery.
