Harry J. “Jim” Truman, 77, died on September 9, 2021 at Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation in Marion, Indiana.
Harry was born on July 18, 1944 in Brighton, Michigan to Harry and Mary (Ross) Truman. He served his country in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam, where he was deployed for two tours. On June 7, 1965, he married Patricia Gail Reagan and together they raise their four children: Cathy, Wendy, Angie and Scott.
Harry worked as an electrician with Dayton Walther for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his passion was archery. Harry competed in many tournaments and was a professional archer.
He is survived by his children: Cathy Roberts (Steve), Wendy Schliessman (Gary), Angie Truman (Jason Duncan) and Scott Truman (Lee Ann); three sisters: Shirley Rice, Linda Lee Kitchen, and Julie Foschia; four grandchildren: Amber Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Luke Schliessman and Jake Schliessman; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Locker as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Gail Truman in 2018 and by a sister Gladys Carter
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton. Burial with Military Funeral Honors conducted by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
