Ila Mearl Sullivan, a long-time resident of Eaton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Port Orchard, Washington.
Born in 1921 in Greenfield, Ohio, Ila was the second of seven children born to Thomas Glen and Artha M. (Lephardt) Owen. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1939 and married Francis M. Sullivan in 1952.
Ila was a homemaker and worked part-time as a bookkeeper. Ila enjoyed sewing and quilting, painting, and working with stained glass. She was a member of the Eaton United Methodist Church and the Purdue Home EC Club.
Ila is survived by her son, Michael (Tami) Sullivan, her daughter, Sandy (Dan) Schwomeyer, and one grandson, Patrick Schwomeyer. She is also survived by two brothers Thomas (Ann) Owen and Kenneth (Carole Ann) Owen, two sisters, Thelma Roberts and Tiny Wheeler, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Francis Sullivan, and sisters Barbara Witt and Pauline Pittman.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, IN.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Eaton Union Cemetery, 16301 N. State Road 3, Eaton, IN, with Pastor Roger Walby officiating.
