Jack Young Obituary

EATON, IN Jack L. Young, 80, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at Morrison Woods Health Campus, Muncie. Jack was born in Ft. Wayne, the son of Charles and Minnie (Doty) Young, on March 22, 1930. He graduated from Eaton High School in 1948 and married Alberta June Beouy on July 3, 1953. He retired from AT & T in 1989 after 38 and a half years of service as a lineman & PBX(Private Branch Exchange) technician. Jack served as sexton of the Eaton Union Cemetery Association from 1991 - 2009 and presently served on the board as Vice President. An Army Veteran, Jack also served with the Eaton E.M.T.’s for thirty years and was presently serving on its Board of Directors. Jack was a fifty year member or Eaton Lodge #606 F. & A.M., where he was a Past Master. A long time member of the Order of Eastern Star #522, he served as Worthy Patron twice. Jack had attended the Eaton United Methodist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Cable, Indianapolis; son, Jason Young of Eaton; one brother, Jerry A. Young (wife, Mary Ann) of Ft. Wayne and a granddaughter Rebecca Cable. In addition to his parents, his wife June precedes him in death, February 7, 1990. Funeral services will held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., with Pastor Keith Williams presiding. Burial with Military Rites by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 28 with Masonic Rites at 8:00 pm. and one hour prior to services Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
