James Joseph Cornell, 65, died on Friday, February 5, 2021, while working in Logansport, Indiana.

Jim was born to Robert Norman and Kathleen Frances (Fourthman) Cornell on May 5, 1955. His mother died when he was a young boy leaving Jim to be raised by his father and step-mother Barbara Cornell.

He graduated from Delta High School in 1974 and enjoyed quite a few hobbies including a love of fishing and boating which he passes on to Brad. Jim loved fishing with his best friend Jeff from Florida to the Upper Peninsula.

He was an avid and loyal Colts fan and loved NASCAR and Indy racing. He enjoyed classic cars which came from a life-long career of professional driving, having logged over 3 million miles as an over the road truck driver for Pete Tooley Corp for over 30 years. Jim was also a proud member of the Teamsters Local 135.

Jim’s love for his grandkids brought him true joy. He loved to spend the day at Chuckie Cheese and play Grandpa Zombie to them.

Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandra Cornell; three children and six grandchildren: Greg Hart (Gracie, Sophia, Wyatt), Ashley (Joe) Weaver (Whitney, Baron, Barrett) and Bradley Hart; and a brother Robert Cornell of Muncie.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
