Muncie, IN

Janice L. Jordan, 84, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Janice was born on August 2, 1937 in Letcher County, Kentucky to Columbus and Pearl (Lucas) Craft. She graduated from Milan High School in 1955 and enjoyed letting folks in the Muncie area know that she was a part of the class that won the championship against Muncie. 

On May 28, 1955 she married James Jordan in Sunman, Indiana and together they would make their lives there, raising their three children. Later, James and Janice moved to Muncie where they attended Trinity Baptist Church.

Janice worked for Anchor Glass aka Thatcher Glass for over 40 years and was a former member of the Dearborn Baptist Church in Aurora, Indiana.

She is survived by her children: James Jordan Jr. (Linn Simensen), Jennifer Block (Mike) and Sharon Fowler (Harry); four grandchildren: Gregg Jordan, David Burns, Jordan Burns (Shane Johnson) and Andy Block (Emily); as well as seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Jordan; two brothers, Dewey Craft and Carly Craft and a sister Virginia Ballinger.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Brian Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery, Albany.

Friends and family will gather at the funeral home prior to services starting at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
