Joseph Stanley Wilkerson, 24, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Joey was born on December 15, 1992 to John and Beverly (Carney) Wilkerson. He attended Delta High School and most recently worked at Sunshine Café in Muncie.

Joey loved the outdoors. He loved exploring, fishing and especially playing with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother Beverly Wilkerson, his father John Wilkerson, two brothers, John Michael Wilkerson (Kimberly) and Daniel Wilkerson, his maternal grandmother, Betty Shannon (Tom), paternal grandmother, Virginia Lawson, maternal great-grandmother, Pearl Carney, maternal step-grandparents, Steve Willman (Viola), a niece, Alivia Wilkerson, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Carney Sr., paternal grandfather, Robert Lawson, and an aunt, Ann Strunk.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Eaton First Baptist Church, 510 E. Columbia St., Eaton with Joey's uncle, Pastor Mark Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at the Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.
