Karen Sue Linn, 91, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on May 10, 2026, with her family at her side.
Karen was born on May 19, 1934, to George and Garnet (Derbyshire) Wagner. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1952. On December 26, 1974, she married John Willard Linn and together they made their home in Gaston.
Karen worked as a supervisor for Delaware County Trustee and was a member of Prairie Grove Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Amvets. Upon retirement, Karen taught herself quilting and enjoyed meeting weekly with the quilting club in Gaston.
Karen enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing at the lakes but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children: Kimberly Linn (Kenneth), Taffi Thompson, and Scott Shipley (Lynn); 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and her parents, George and Garnet Wagner; her daughter, Ketta Martin; her son, Stephen Shipley; four sisters: Mary Jo, Kay, Judy and Dee; and her grandson, Scott D. Shipley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Prairie Grove Christian Church, 16775 N 775 E, Gaston, Indiana 47342 with Pastor Brian Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Cemetery, Gaston.
Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14th and after 10:00 am Friday.
Memorials may be made in her name to Prairie Grove Christian Church.
