Linda F. Hammer, 85, died at her home on January 24, 2025, after an extended illness.
Linda was born on March 16, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana to John and Mary (Taylor) Carter. She was a 1957 graduate of Eaton High School and a graduate of Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
On June 24, 1961, Linda married Cletus Hammer and together they would have three children, John, David and Steve.
Linda worked as an RN for Ball Hospital for many years. She retired as head nurse on the OBGYN ward.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother She enjoyed gardening and was certified as a Master Gardner.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Cletus Hammer; her children: John Hammer (Beth), David Hammer (Beth), and Steve Hammer (Sonny); grandchildren: Nicholas Hammer (Britta), Michelle Hammer, Ryan Hammer (Chelsea), Alex Hammer (Kelsey), William Hammer (Avery), Philip Hammer (Sasha) and Carter Hammer and three great-grandchildren: Connor, Bennett, and Callie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the services starting at 10:00 a.m.
