Linda Schutter

Linda R. Schutter, 77, passed away at her home on Monday, October 13, 2025, with her family at her side.

Linda was born on December 7, 1947, to Clifford and Kitty (Birkett) Green. She graduated from Redford Union High School in 1966 and joined her father in business at Cliff Green Sales. Following Cliff’s retirement, Linda continued operating the business for 20 years.

Linda loved animals, especially raising, caring for, and showing horses.

In 1999, Linda moved to Muncie, where she was a member of the DeSoto United Methodist Church. There she assisted with vacation bible school, children’s after school care and devoted her time to assisting the elderly of the church.

Linda was a master gardener who loved flowers and gardening. On January 17, 2002, she married Duane Schutter. Linda and Duane enjoyed traveling together, visiting festivals, car shows, and friends.

Linda was very talented and outgoing. Over her life, she attended clown school, owned and operated her mobile dog grooming business, and enjoyed crafting handmade greeting cards.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Duane Schutter; her daughter, Holly Allen (Jamey); sister, Bonita Howe (Owen); two grandchildren: Alexcis Clark (Josh) and Ashley Allen (Mike Bandy); great-grandchildren: River Gray Allen, Abby, Konner, Atlas, and Ryker Clark; two nephews: Luke Howe (Cassie) and Tim Howe (Ashley); great-nieces: Eliza Howe, Rosalind Howe and Rory Howe, and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Kitty Green.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at DeSoto United Methodist Church, 6309 N County Road 500 E, Muncie, IN 47303 with Pastor Katie Starks officiating. Burial will follow at Union Church Cemetery, DeSoto.

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to services starting at 10:00 a.m.
