Linda M. Smith, 85, died on Monday, August 19, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Linda was born in Shideler, Indiana to Kenneth and Ruth (McCollum) Hankins on May 21, 1939. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1957 and married Richard L. Smith in 1962 in Jonesboro, Indiana.

Linda’s life centered around raising her children and caring for and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the loves of her life.

She is survived by her children: Diedra Smith, Mitzi Beeson (Paul), Richard Smith Jr., and Darla Crouch (Dave); sister, Barbara Collins; grandchildren: Meghan Deckman (Joe), Leah Thomas (AD), Ashley Tharp, Tyler Morris, Derek Mitchell (Kristin), Holly Melby (Robert), Jonathon Bales, Austin Crouch (Deby), Kylie Smith and Sarah Crouch (Andrew); great-grandchildren: Aurora, Cameron, Dae, Ellis, Tristan, Donovan, Ashlynn, Braxton, Brylon, Ariyah, Bailey, Colton, Cecil, Ryder, Davin, Khloe, Avery, Quinn, Jase, Everley, Teagan, Ayden, Mason, Damian, Mackenzie, Maximus, Raylin, Kyndall, and Karson, son-in-law, Tracy Morris as well as several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Smith Sr., daughter, Tarinna Morris and her sisters, Mary Smith and Pat McAfee; brother, Robert Hankins, great-granddaughter, Kierztynn Tolbert and her beloved companion Muffin who passed away on August 9th.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 Gardens of Memory, 10703 N State Road 3, Muncie with Brian Waters officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to graveside services from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton.
