Lowan T. Hicks, 81, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at home after an extended illness.

Lowan was born on January 3, 1941 in Winchester, Indiana to Nathan and Hazel (Gregory) Thornbury. She received her GED and later worked two terms as clerk-treasurer for the Town of Eaton. Later Lowan would serve on the Eaton Town Council.

On November 8, 1971 she married Charles Hicks and together they made their life in Eaton.

Lowan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Hicks; children: Sonja Threadgill, Toni Threadgill, Randy Threadgill, Ric Hicks, Ron Hicks, and Cindi Mounsey as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lowan was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Threadgill; her siblings: Larry Thornbury, Wanda Miller and Linda Ingle, and a grandson, Jerod Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Michael Osborn officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home prior to services starting at 12:00 Noon.

Burial will follow cremation at Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to IU Health Hospice 2401 W University Ave. Muncie, IN 47303.

Due to recent medical procedures, the family requests that guests wear masks.
