Veedersburg –
Mary M. (Cox) Watson Worley, 88, Veedersburg, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the Franciscan Health Hospital, Crawfordsville, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 7:31 p.m.
Mary was born in Pleasant View, Kentucky on August 25, 1936.
She was the daughter of the late Levi and Mary Elizabeth (Stephens) Cox. Mary was raised in Hill Top, Kentucky and later moved to Whitley City, Kentucky, graduating from McCreary County High School in 1956. On August 11, 1956, Mary married Millard Vinson Watson in Jellico, Tennessee. The very next year, Millard and Mary moved to Eaton, Indiana. Mary worked at Eaton Cannery and later worked at Meridian Foods in Eaton.
On August 7, 1989, Millard preceded Mary in death. Mary stayed in Eaton until meeting Noel Dean Worley and they were married on August 28 1999 in Muncie, Indiana. They later moved to Veedersburg, Indiana and lived there until the present time. Noel preceded Mary in death on November 7, 2011.
Mary was an active member of the Independence Old Fashioned Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and working puzzle books.
Mary leaves behind a daughter, Dianne (Paul) Young; four sons, Dale ; Dickie (Tara Withers); Jerry (Sheryl Grant) and Jeffery (Michele Atkins); four step children, Stanley (Wilma); Paulette Watson; Glenna (Ron) Watkins and Amanda Bechdolt; 23 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son David Watson; 10 siblings, Nora Perry, Fred Cox, Dora Sumners, Elmer Cox, Leslie Cox, Flora Jones, Lora Cox, Margaret Cox, Zora Newton and Rosa Waters; a grandson, Zachery Watson; a great-granddaughter, Evaiya Reign Watson; 2 step grandchildren, Crystal Morrison and Nathaniel Watson.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, 704 S. Council St., Attica, on Monday, April 21st from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. A second visitation will be held at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, IN, on Wednesday, April 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dewayne Loveless officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories in Muncie.
