Max H. Morgan, 90, passed away on October 17, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Max was born on August 19, 1927 in Randolph County, Indiana to Archie and Mary (Holloway) Morgan. He graduated from Albany High School in 1945 and earned his bachelor's and master's degree from Ball State University.

On April 16, 1945 he married Barbara Sue Zigler in Muncie. She would preceed him in death in 2007.

Max served his country in the US Airforce from 1951 to 1955. He would later teach Earth Sciences at the University of New York, Mankato State University, Muncie School, and Wilson Middle School.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #59 as well as serving on the Niles Township Board for many years.

Max had a deep love for his grandchildren, animals and took great pride in his gardening.

Surviving are his sons: Mike Morgan (Amy), Phil Morgan (Alicia); three brothers: Gene Morgan, Jim Morgan (Marie), and Ralph "Tom" Morgan (Rhea); two sisters, Madonna Hough and Sarah Brumfield; six grandchildren: Kris Cannon, Lauren Caldier (Mark), Trina Richardson (Seth), Meta Johnson, Alexis Carter (Jason) and Cassie Anthony (Shane); 11 great-grandchildren: DeVante Morgan, Alivia Morgan, Mikayla Morgan, Kaylee Caldier, Domenic Caldier, Brandon Cannon, Seth Cannon, Cameron Freed, Lucas Morgan, and Colin Anthony as well as many nieces and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara, a daughter, Joanna Ruth Morgan, four brothers: Bob, Joe, Dick, and Jack Morgan and two sisters, Sue Jones and Martha Groover.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton. Burial with Military Funeral Honors by the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Black Cemetery, Albany.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
