Maxine Jones

Maxine Jones, 95, loving mother, wife, sister and friend, died on September 11, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Maxine was born to Forest and Molly (Drumm) Hiatt in the family home, on January 9, 1926. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1944 and married Max Jones on June 11, 1945 in Star City, Indiana. Together they would raise their three children in Eaton.

She was a long-time member of the Eaton United Methodist Church, Wednesday Afternoon Club, Home Ec Demonstration Club for over 67 years and later attended 55 Alive at The Garden of Gethsemane United Methodist Church.

Maxine enjoyed bowling, especially with her husband Max and enjoyed wintering in Arizona.

She is survived by her children: Phillip Jones (Karen) and Janice Walker (Bill); eight grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mildred Smoot; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Max, Maxine was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith McWilliams; two sisters, Mildred Fickert and Ester Scott; and a brother Kenneth Hiatt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16th, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton with her nephew, Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
