Nellie Ruth Hoover, 92, died on Monday, December 5, 2022 at her home in Winchester.

Nell was born in Eaton to Carl and Edith (Boyer) Johnston. She was a 1947 graduate of Eaton High School and she married William Eugene Hoover on July 20, 1947 at the Christian Church in Eaton. Together they would raise their four children.

Nell loved everything to do with sewing and crafts. She owned and operated Pin & Pleat Custom Draperies and loved making all kinds of things for her children and grandchildren. Nell loved her flower garden and enjoyed tending to its’ care.

She is survived by her children: Jane Beese (Richard), James Hoover, Peggy Hoover and Daniel Hoover (Cindy); grandchildren: Amy Sekany (Jason), Stacy Bluth (John) and Carrie Pfaff (Brian); great-grandchildren: Olivia, Alaina, Jake, Mollie and Spencer. She is also survived by, her favorite four-legged children, Maggie and Mr. Grey as well as many friends and her neighbors that made her neighborhood so lovely.

Nell is also survived by her son Daniel's extended family including Cindy’s children: Matt (April), Justin (Cheryl), Melissa (Gareth) and Brandon (Megan) and Cindy’s grandchildren: Baylee, Hannah, Payton, Susie, Caleb, Kylee, Kadyn, Dustin and Derek

In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoover; her siblings, Carl Johnston, Betty Floyd, Alma Osenbaugh, Virginia Lewman and Janet Williams and a daughter-in-law, Christine Hoover.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Pastor Nancy Pike officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
