Phillip Gregory Bales, 64, died on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a courageous fight with cancer.
Phillip was born on August 25, 1959 to Richard and Peggy (McKillip) Bales. He attended Delta schools and later married Diana Geyman on March 25, 1980. Together they would make their home and raise their children in Eaton.
Phillip worked in construction for many years and enjoyed fishing, camping, and IU basketball. Most of all, Phillip loved being a grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and traveling to watch their sporting events.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Diana Bales; two daughters, Crystal Thalls (Jacob) and Beth Bales (Aaron Kraus); five grandchildren: Izabella Thalls, Rylan Kraus, Hunter Kraus, Paxton Thalls, and Parker Thalls; two brothers, Tony Bales and John Bales; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Peggy Bales.
In accordance with Phillips wishes, he will be cremated, and private family services will be held at a later date. Phillip would like everyone to remember the good times and to think of him when you catch a fish.
