Ricky Markwell

Ricky R. Markwell, 66, died on Friday, January 19, 2024, after an extended illness.

Ricky was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 27, 1957, to Bennie Marvin and Margaret Clarice (Owen) Markwell. One of eleven children, he grew up in Delaware County and served his country in the US Army.

Ricky worked as a mechanic, most recently for Granville Auto and was skilled in auto painting.

Ricky married Sonja Bell on March 7, 1999 and together they made their home in Delaware County, raising Sonja’s two daughters as his own.

His is survived by his partner, Sonja Markwell; two daughters: Amber Privett (Caleb Maddox) and Shoshannah Clifford; eight grandchildren: Cayla, Sam, Lexy, Levi, Nathanial, Robert, Adaline and Leo; his siblings: Sonja Markwell, Bennie Markwell Jr., Johnnie Markwell, Roy Markwell, Ida Markwell, Deborah Markwell, Edward Markwell, Mary Markwell, and Shirley McDaniel; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother Steve Markwell.

No public services are planned. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, Eaton.
