Russell Alexander Obituary

EATON, IN RUSSELL LOWELL ALEXANDER, 94, rural Eaton, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in his home, surrounded by family. The son of Blanch and Lillie (Dill) Alexander, he was born June 27, 1915 in Randolph County. A 1934 graduate of Royerton High School, he married Mary Ellen Burt on November 25, 1939 in the home of Mary’s parents. Lowell was a lifetime farmer and was a member of the Eden Church. Surviving are his children, Gary (wife, Dr. Julie) Alexander, rural Eaton, Mary Ann (husband, Kin) Kinlaw, Atlanta, GA, and Dan (wife, Cathy) Alexander, rural Muncie, 14 grandchildren: Scott (wife, Valerie) Alexander, Stephanie (husband, Jeff) Welch, Ben Alexander, Megan Alexander, Justin (wife, Mikelle) Brady, Alison (husband, Tobi) Rohwer, Kelly (husband, John) Blake, Jeff Kinlaw, Jack Alexander, Cassie Alexander, Chris Alexander, Brad Alexander, Suzanne Alexander and Desiree (husband, Michael) Freyburger, 15 great-grandchildren, as well as a special thanks to, Grandpa’s Angels. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Ellen, in 2004, a son, Thomas, in 1987, four brothers: George, Robert, Lawrence, and Cecil, and a sister, Celia Alexander. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, August 17, 2009 in the Eden Church 11205 N. St. Rd 3. Muncie, with Dr. Max Hayden & Rev. Marc Hayden presiding. Private burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the church from 2:30 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Eden Church or Ball Memorial Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.
