Sammy Joe McIntire, 70, owner of SSS Auto Body, died on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after battling Covid-19 for several weeks.
He was born on May 3, 1951 in Muncie, Indiana to Ira and Catherine (Murphy) McIntire. Sammy graduated from Delta High School and later operated SSS Auto Body in Eaton and Dunkirk. He was well like and well known for his skill and craftsmanship.
Sammy was a great father and grandfather to his grandchildren. He loved fishing and metal detecting but loved cars most of all. He enjoyed drag racing for a time in his life but really enjoyed painting and taking care of those vehicles.
Sammy is survived by his children, Samuel McIntire, Steven McIntire (Michele) and Danielle Clark; a sister, Shirley McFarland; five grandchildren: Zavion Clark, Kameron Clark, Taylor McIntire, Skyler McIntire and Macie McIntire.
In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by a granddaughter, De’Rielle Bronson and a sister, Lois Rodgers.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S Hartford St., Eaton. Burial and a graveside service will follow visitation at 2:15 p.m. at Eaton Union Cemetery with Brian Waters officiating.
