Shirley J. (Couch) Brewer

Shirley J. Brewer, 76, died on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Shirley was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 9, 1946 to Cashius and Elizabeth Couch. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1964.

She worked for Gardens of Memory Cemetery for over 10 years before working in the vault at Ball State University, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed traveling to the casino and enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Dobbs wife Kellie; four grandchildren: Tyler Dobbs (Jessica), Travis Dobbs (Hayley), Zaccary Walker, Trenntin Stiner (Alexis); great-grandchildren: Alivia, Carson, Grayson, Ella, Layla, Mavrik and Remmington, her sister, Louise Murphy as well as many nieces and nephews, including her very close nephew Paul Johnson and his wife, Susan.

In addition to her parents, Cashius and Elizabeth Couch, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Harold Brewer, a sister, Mary Wood and her brothers, Jay Couch, Charles Couch, John Couch, Fred Couch and Bob Couch.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10601 N State Road 3, Muncie.

Flowers may be delivered to Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton, IN 47338 prior to 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
