Zona Linville

Zona Gail Linville, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with her family at her side, at Community Hospital Anderson.

Zona was born on May 28, 1939, in Charleston, West Virginia to Jack and Edith Holstein.  She attended school in Alum Creek and on May 24, 1958, she married Jesse Carl Linville. Together, they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Zona, a child of the King, a coal-miners daughter, loved Jesus and radiated the Holy Spirit to all she met. She was her daughters’ best friend and someone that treated everyone special. Zona found the good in everyone and enjoyed just being there for anyone that needed someone to care and listen. She was artistic, always young at heart, and supported many charities throughout her life.

She is survived by her children: Tonja Jesko (Frank), Patty Goney (Ron) Carletta Bell (Brent) and Regina McCollum (John);  her siblings: Murl Holstein (Linda), Gene Holstein (Marge), and Roger Holstein; grandchildren: Steve Tweedy, Crystal Brecher (Tim), Shanda Baker (Donald Morris Jr.), Melissa Watson (JR), Caroline Gregory (Chuck), Jessica McCollum, Andrea Holcomb, Erin Cassell, Travis Goney, and Ronnie Goney (Erin); many great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, and husband Carl, Zona was preceded in death an infant daughter, Paula May Linville and her siblings, Doug, Jackie, Wanetta, Macel, Ramona, Connie, Vallie, her life-long friend Mary Watson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Eaton Church of God, 700 E Harris St., Eaton with Pastor Robert Dale Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Eaton Union Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the church, prior to services from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
